Actively support the day-to-day investment operations tasks which include custody, banking, middle office oversight; trade monitoring, WHT Monitoring; in-specie transaction management and segregated client onboarding.

 

Responsibilities

  • trade lifecycle management (matching, confirmation, settlement)
  • custodian monitoring (trade queries, banking, invoicing, transitions, depositary)
  • corporate action administration
  • cash management
  • query management (daily review and monitoring of group inbox ensuring all queries are responded to in a timely manner)
  • banking (payments, FX, and overdraft monitoring)
  • perform all tasks on the daily Investment Operations checklist ensuring daily sign off and controls are adhered to
  • relationship management – work with internal and external clients and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of tasks and maintain a high level of service. Escalate to resolve issues where required
  • escalate potential risk and exception items to the Investment Operations Manager and Head of Middle Office. Participate in the resolution of problems/issues
  • undertake project management responsibilities to support business requirements and work to complete project deliverables as required by the Investment Operations Manager
  • preparation and delivery of Management Information on a timely basis
  • administration of users to key in-house systems such as HSBCnet and in-house reporting systems
  • EMIR reporting oversight
  • oversight of the implemented CSDR punitive measures. Review reporting, invoicing, cash postings and reconciliations
  • generation of business requirements documentation
  • ensure procedures are in place for all processes and updated when necessary.

Competencies

  • experience of client onboarding/transitions
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel and Word required)
  • experience of third-party administrator systems (HSBCnet, NT Passport) desirable
  • experience of Withholding Tax and Reclaims processing.

Experience/qualification

  • up to three years work experience in investment operations at an asset manager or within financial services
  • knowledge of UK regulated funds desirable
  • knowledge of Bloomberg AIM would be advantageous.
  • knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements in the asset management industry
  • industry qualification or working towards IAQ, IOC or IMC
